Creating your own live streaming internet TV station is all the rage right now. There are several companies doing it, but we found that Kyte does many things really well. Want to edit and upload content to your channel? No problem. How about embedding the Kyte player in your facebook or MySpace pages? Easy. Want to broadcast live video from your mobile phone? Kyte is your ticket.
Check out our recent interview with Kyte’s Chief Marketing Officer, Gannon Hall.
Lots of people comment on how cool our booth is when they see it at ad:tech. Most probably don’t have any idea how much work goes into shipping it and assembling it. This video covers a five-hour process in about two minutes.
As an interesting aside, all the assembly HAS to be done by union labor. To give you an idea of how much the union runs things - we were told that we couldn’t shoot interviews with our camera on the floor. They said we were taking away work from the union. It’s amazing how a trade show about digital media and marketing can’t allow this.
Some days back I talked about how I thought Utterz got it right with their take on mobile blogging/podcasting. This is our interview with Co-Founder, Randy Corke. He talks about how easy Utterz is to setup and use from any phone.
Before SXSWwe started to hear a lot of buzz about Socialthing! being the breakout app of the show. Why? Well, it was trying to solve a problem that most of us in the social media world face daily - too many social networking destinations to manage. By the time you sign into your Twitter, and your facebook, and you flickr and… well, you’ve wasted a half hour. Socialthing! allows you to sign into one application and track your “lifestream” and publish out to multiple networks at once.
Christopher talked with CEO, Matt Galligan about what inspired him to create Socialthing! and his reaction to all the buzz. Oh, and if you’d like to try the private beta, use code “mediatrust” and you’re in!
The world of PR is changing rapidly. Issuing press releases are not enough anymore. Web 2.0 has given companies direct access to their customers. In this episode of Relevantly Speaking, Christopher Smith talks with Audrey Shedivy of Henry Grey | PR about how companies can take advantage of the social web.
We continue our series of interviews from SXSWi. Christopher & I caught up with Shiv Singh of Avenue A | Razorfish and chatted about the past and the future of social media. Is it a mistake to think of social media as the end-game? Should we be trying to monetize it? Watch the interview and find out.
Our second amazing interview from SXSW is with David Merkoski, Creative Director at frogSF. Christopher and Scott traveled to frog’s Austin studio during SXSWi, to chat with David about the shifting paradigm of design, and how social media and a web 2.0 world is affecting frog’s design decisions and how they work with their clients.
In this episode of Relevantly Speaking, we bring you the first in our series of interviews from Austin Texas. Christopher Smith caught up with the Founder & CEO of Blurb, Eileen Gittins. She talked about what Blurb does and the passion that they put into every facet of their company. If you’re a photographer, a writer, or in a band, Blurb can help you publish a commercial quality book.
The final video update from SXSW. We wrapped up some loose production ends, said some goodbyes to some amazing people, and prepared for a night of events including the Digg and Rockband parties.
In yesterday’s update we saw a clear theme of empowerment in the web 2.0 space. We talked with many companies that are helping individuals express themselves through video, print, and photography. Today had a theme as well. It was about perspective in the social media space. How does your perspective change your approach to playing in the web 2.0 sandbox?
Relevantly Speaking’s writers are a collection of professionals from varied backgrounds and areas of expertise.
